The Indianapolis Colts have cut ties with cornerback Jerraud Powers, wide receiver Donnie Avery, and offensive tackle Winston Justice. With new guys coming in, it means that some guys have to go. Jerraud Powers had 4 productive years in Indianapolis, and I was a bit surprised he was let go. Powers is one of those guys that really can't hurt the team. The only consistent problem that Powers had was that he almost always finished the season on the injured reserve, and battled injuries with the Colts. Powers has played in only 42 games in 4 seasons (64 games). Powers is a former 3rd round who fans either liked or didn't like. Many thought he underachieved, and in a sense he did. He didn't pan out and didn't really have a major impact. He had some great games, but in other he looked like a liability. Powers is replaceable and I believe the guy replacing him is Darius Butler. The Cardinals and Chargers have interest in Powers and it's expected he will go there and beco...

Recapping the Colts' 2nd Day of Free Agency

The Indianapolis Colts were quiet for most of the day but made a splash late.Let's start with the losses. Indianapolis Colts sign OLB Erik Walden

It’s not often I hate a contract that isn’t worth a ton of money, but I hate this 16 million dollar deal the Colts gave to Erik Walden, over 4 years. They apparently view Walden as a cost effective option at rush linebacker opposite Robert Mathis, but he’s not a starting caliber player at all. Pressed into action due to injuries in each of the last two years in Green Bay, Walden...
