The Colts have made a pretty big trade with the Eagles. The Colts have traded Kevin Thomas (CB) and a conditional 7th round pick (2013) to the Eagles for Moise Fokou (LB) and Greg Lloyd (DE).

The Colts have finally cut ties with Kevin Thomas, the struggling cornerback. Thomas was drafted in 2010 in the 3rd round, but an injury forced him out his rookie season. Last season, he looked out of place and never really looked good on the field. He was the starter going into training camp, but we rarely saw him on the field. This is probably why. The Colts were probably trying to trade him.

The Colts also sent a conditonal 7th round pick. I assume that if Thomas sees a certain amount of playing time, that the Colts would send over a 7th round pick in 2013.

Then, the Colts receiver 2 players, one that's pretty good, and one that's unproven. Let's start with Fokou.

Moise Fokou has started 22 games for the Eagles and has 112 tackles in 43 games. Fokou is a small, but agile linebacker who can chase down many running backs. He's more of an inside linebacker in the 3-4 system, and he makes the perfect OLB in the 4-3 system. He could definitely become a good fit with the Colts and don't be surprised if he you see him quite a bit next year. As of right now, he's probably the best backup for the inside linebacker spot. Getting him was great.

Then there's Greg Lloyd Jr. Greg Lloyd Jr is the son of former Steelers linebacker Greg Lloyd. That's pretty much all he's famous for. He was drafted in the 7th round in the 2011 draft and has not seen the field much, or at all. He is a linebacker. He would be an inside linebacker in a 3-4 system and an outside linebacker in a 4-3 system. Lloyd is merely a camp body and it's going to be tough for him to make the roster. The practice squad is a possibility.

This is another one of many trades the Colts have done with the Eagles. This is mostly because of general manager Ryan Grigson's familiarity with the Eagles.
