Colts rookie running back Vick Ballard will make his first NFL start Sunday against the New York Jets after Donald Brown had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee. Interim coach Bruce Arians says Brown had surgery Tuesday and shouldn't miss more than two to three weeks. Arians did not say which knee Brown injured in the victory over Green Bay, which apparently occurred on a 2-point conversion that followed Reggie Wayne's go-ahead touchdown catch with 35 seconds left in the game. Brown has 60 carries for 239 yards and one TD. Arians says a handful of other players are questionable for the Jets game. That list includes inside linebacker Pat Angerer (fractured foot), cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle) and outside linebacker Robert Mathis (sprained knee).

Donald Brown out 3 Weeks Due to Knee Injury

Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown underwent a knee scope and will miss two to three weeks. The injury occurred late in the second half against the Packers. Rookie tailback Vick Ballard will get the start against the Jets on Sunday. Ballard is a nice sleeper pick in all formats as the Jets have been terrible against the run this season.

NFP Playbook: All-22 Review of Luck's TD Pass to Beat the Packers

The National Football Post's Matt Bowen broke down Andrew Luck's game winning touchdown to Reggie Wayne using the NFL's All-22 footage.  Bowen explained the offensive and defensive formations, routes, and coverage on the play and showed why the play was successful: - Where is the inside help from the Mike and FS? Look at Luck in the pocket. No hesitation for the Colts’...

Hilbert: Luck in the No-Huddle, and His Best Play According to Arians

Evan Hilbert's Colts Notebook over at CBSSports.com this week focuses on Andrew Luck's command of the no-huddle, a rarity among rookies.  Hilbert goes over some upcoming matchups that look winnable and recounts the flurry of moves at the bottom of the roster this week.  He also has something from Interim Coach Bruce "B.A." Arians that I found very interesting...

Indianapolis Colts place Seth Olsen on IR

The Indianapolis Colts today waived tight end Dominique Jones and placed guard Seth Olsen on Injured Reserve. Olsen is designated for return to the active roster. The Colts also signed wide receiver Kris Adams to the practice squad.   Jones was signed as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2012. In four games (one start), he had one reception for eight yards.   Olsen was acquired...

Andrew Luck's Emergence as Clutch Quarterback Has Colts Looking Like Playoff Hopefuls

The Indianapolis Colts entered Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers without their head coach and uncertain of the direction this season was taking. Andrew Luck more than answered the call in such a big moment, though, establishing the Colts as legitimate playoff contenders. Luck, the first pick in April's NFL draft and a perennial superstar for a few years now, undertook...

Following a Legend: Andrew Luck Week 4 vs. Green Bay Packers

Andrew Luck had his best game yet in leading the Colts back from a 21-3 halftime deficit over the Green Bay Packers. It ties the largest comeback win of the season, and the largest by a rookie since Matthew Stafford’s 21-point comeback over Cleveland in 2009. For the third straight game Luck led the offense on a go-ahead scoring drive with less than a minute to go, and Green...

Video: Colts fan digs for gold during game

This guy just tossed his hat in for the most embarrassing moment for an NFL fan this week.Seen here is an Indianapolis Colts supporter mining for gold throughout his nasal passages during Sunday's home contest against the Green Bay Packers. Apparently the fact that the Colts rallied from behind to win in thrilling fashion (30-27) wasn't enough to keep him interested.Let...

Spotlight Matchup: Mark Sanchez vs. the Colts' Pass Defense

After a huge win agains the Packers this past Sunday, the Colts will take on the circus in New York on Sunday.  The Jets have had their problems in 2012, being extremely disappointing after a blowout win against Buffalo in Week 1.  A lot of the problems have stemmed from the Jets most visible problem: quarterback. Mark Sanchez continues to be a terrible excuse for an NFL quarterbak...

Kelley/Bowen: A Bit of Modern History

A lengthy article, but a good read to really put this game in perspective. I especially like the Indy's regular season record against them: 40-26. I mean, that won't factor into this week's game, but at least it's not 0-66; then, I might get a little paranoid.Oh! And my Colts/Jets history! Living in Canada, I'm not able to go to nearly as many Colts games as...
