Today’s Colts Notebook features some thoughts from Dwight Freeney, Reggie Wayne, T. Y. Hilton, Cassius Vaughn, and Interim Coach Bruce Arians.  Quotes and information are provided courtesy of the Indianapolis Colts Public Relations Department.   Following up an Emotional Win During their bye week, coming off a last second loss to the Jaguars, Colts players first learned of Coach Chuck Pagano’s leukemia diagnosis.  Their world turned on end; they had to go right back to work.  Many fans expected the worst in a week 5 matchup with Green Bay. The team went down 21-3 before storming back in the second half for an emotional 30-27 victory.  They did it for their coach, their fans, their families, and each other.  They were ChuckStrong.  The next game, however, things fell apart.  Emotionally drained, Indianapolis fell 35-9 to the New York Jets. One of the many tests the Colts face this week is to prevent such a letdown from happening again, as they look to follow up another close, em...

Colts beat Dolphins: Who was Hot in Victory

The Colts are in the playoff hunt after three straight wins, and with a favorable schedule the rest of the way, have a decent chance at a one year successful rebuild.  The win comes on the shoulders of the entire team, but some players certainly had better games than others. But which ones had the better games? Which ones fell off the horse? We'll look at three players on offense...

Colts Notebook, November 6th, 2012

On scenic West 56st St in Indianapolis, the Colts spoke with the media Monday as they prepared for their Thursday night showdown with division rival Jacksonville.  Bruce Arians and the players discussed Chuck Pagano, the offensive line, the upcoming matchup and more.  Quotes and information are provided courtesy of the Indianapolis Colts Public Relations Department.   Pagano...

Luck gives himself a C for his play

Andrew Luck is his own harshest critic. One day after breaking Cam Newton's single-game record for yards passing, the rookie quarterback gave himself a midterm grade of C - even though this has been no average season. Luck has already won five games, two more than Peyton Manning did in his first NFL season. He's on pace to shatter the NFL single season rookie records for...

Cory Redding on seeing Chuck Pagano: “It was just a pleasure to see him there and lift everybody’s spirits up”

Cory Redding isn’t new to Chuck Pagano, he played for him in Baltimore. So, he knows first hand who Pagano is, and what he means to the Indianapolis Colts. Pagano is under going cancer treatment, but his spirit has shown the fight in him, and now the Colts are showing the same fire. At 5-3, the Colts are the surprise team of 2012, and according to Redding, Pagano is the reason...

Colts shave heads to support Pagano

The Indianapolis Colts are going to great lengths to support their ailing coach Chuck Pagano. In a show of support, a group of about a dozen players shaved their heads after Tuesday's practice. Pagano lost his hair while undergoing treatment for leukemia. Director of player engagement David Thornton had a barber in the locker room following Tuesday's practice and about...

Week 10 Playoff Picture: Colts take first step in seizing wide open wild card spot

Things have changed quickly over the past week. I have just two new entries into the Playoff Picture for Week 10 and it is due largely to the fact that the Dolphins and Eagles failed to take advantage of the promising situations in front of them. With the Eagles, it was more about the team that failed to take advantage of an opportunity. For the Dolphins, it's about having that...

Five Reasons the Jaguars will Beat the Colts

Coming off of their 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts (5-3) head to Florida for their first - and likely last - prime time game of the season as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football. On paper, the Colts appear set to win their fourth straight game run, their record to 6-3 on the season, and take one giant step towards securing...

Colts shave heads to honor Chuck Pagano

Photo Courtesy: @mattoverton_ls ((ht: cbssports.com)) It's impossible not to respect Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, his battle with leukemia and his team rallying around him. Pagano was diagnosed a little over a month ago and has been undergoing a heavy dose of chemotherapy while on leave from his job. And the good news, Monday his doctors told him the...

Manning and Colts find success after breakup

ST. LOUIS - There are lessons in a split. Peyton Mannings strong start with the Denver Broncos and Andrew Lucks rise in his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts have proven this: A breakup can produce benefits for all involved sooner than expected. Week 9 offered further signs that Manning and Luck have evolved in their new roles. Manning, dumped in Indianapolis after 14 seasons...

Waiver Wire: Week Ten

Waiver Time! T.Y. Hilton – WR Colts: Six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown is a good day but having 11 targets is an even better day.  The Colts are playing with a heavy heart and now that Andrew Luck is figuring out the NFL their offense is starting to pick up. Hilton adds another Colt receiver with fantasy value and no defense is in his way the next few weeks. At Jaguars...

Reggie Wayne gushes that Andrew Luck ‘continues to amaze’

Beginning to emerge from the large shadow cast by Robert Griffin III, dynamic quarterback Andrew Luck delivered a record-setting performance while leading the Colts to a 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins yesterday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. … Continue reading →

Colts have different look since loss to Jags

A lot has changed for the Indianapolis Colts since a 22-17 home-field loss to Jacksonville on Sept. 23. That's the only game the Jaguars have won this season and they are 1-7 on the year. Indianapolis, meanwhile, has posted wins in four of its last five games and is rolling along with a 5-3 record. Many Colts point to that loss to Jacksonville in the third week of the season...
