Where to start? Well, I didn't think it would end this quickly. While I initially predicted a Chargers victory in the AFC wild-card game, I decided last minute to switch to the Colts, based on how well QB Peyton Manning played during the winning streak. I thought the defense was as healthy as could be expected, despite missing two starters. And the Colts should have won, but what's the point in belaboring that contention. The result speaks for itself. We accept and move on.
The franchise has some interesting and obviously difficult decisions to make in the coming months. I won't type too much about Tony Dungy's coaching decision about possible retirement because I don't think this team changes much in philosophy if Dungy or Jim Caldwell is coach. Caldwell has a similar demeanor to Dungy, without a lot of the fun stories from the Steelers' "Steel Curtain" days or as an NFL defensive coordinator.
