Colts head coach Chuck Pagano emphasized during last week’s minicamp that very few positions are settled, particularly because so many players have been limited to varying degrees this offseason because of injuries. For instance, the club’s top two picks a year ago, OLT Anthony Castonzo (ankle) and OG-OT Ben Ijalana (knee), have yet to participate in on-field work this offseason. Castonzo, who had his share of growing pains as a rookie but showed great toughness while playing through injuries much of the season, is reportedly penciled in at left tackle. The coaching staff has plenty of tape on Castonzo but the same can’t be said for Ijalana, who will battle with Joe Reitz for the opening at left guard. Reitz also was limited in last week’s minicamp while the versatile Jeff Linkenbach is another player to keep an eye on, as he has garnered praise from the coaching staff.
