This Sunday’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens features two impressive streaks, one of which will end. The Colts have an eight game winning streak against the Ravens dating back to 2002. Equally impressive is the Colts 12 game streak of losing to everyone they’ve played this season. One of these streaks will come to an end but which one?

3 Keys to the Game:

Baltimore Ravens vs. Apathy

At 9-3, the Ravens are in a battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC North crown. Home field advantage in the AFC is up for grabs as well. One would expect John Harbaugh’s crew to be mentally focused. However the Ravens have suffered some ugly losses this year. Two of their three losses have come against teams with a combined record of 8-16.

Dan Orlovsky vs. Ravens Defense.

Orlovsky played fairly well in his Colts debut against the New England Patriots. He threw for over 350 yards and completed 81 percent of his passes. He will be hard pressed to repeat those numbers against the Ravens. Their defense is giving up 198 yards per game through the air. Orlovsky should receive some extra help this week as tight end Dallas Clark is expected to return to the lineup.

Bill McAtee and Steve Tasker vs. Reality

It can’t be easy to announce games featuring the Colts this season. The games usually aren’t close or interesting.  There isn’t a single player performing well enough to warrant discussion. Instead, the announcers focus on Peyton Manning and analyzing why the team is so bad. This is when reality goes out of the window. Listening to last week’s telecast one would think Manning’s injury is the sole reason the Colts’ are on the cusp of historic futility. Anyone who has watched a Colts game in the past three months can tell you there’s a lot more to it than that. Hopefully McAtee and Tasker won’t fall into that trap.

Prediction
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks were able to surprise the Ravens by running the ball well and getting turnovers. Neither of those things have been the Colts specialty.
