I guess somebody listened to me. At least, that’s what I’m going to tell people. Earlier in the week I criticized the Colts offense and lack of confidence in the run game. I noted that the team needed to:
Have confidence, play with balls, and punch that ball in when needed because you have confidence that your guys can do it. If you don’t have that confidence, change the system or get new guys.
Yesterday they did just that. They got new guys. In an astonishing deal, the Colts traded a 2014 1st round pick to the Browns for Trent Richardson. Trent Richardson! That’s the #3 overall pick from the 2012 draft. I guess they really are serious about focusing on the power running game, and the combination of TRich and Bradshaw should be great.
What this move does is combine a strong young offensive nucleus that features two top 2012 draft picks in Luck and Richardson along with another strong member of the 2012 class in T.Y. Hilton. Obviously, the thinking is the Colts want to compete NOW a...
