The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent center Samson Satele, perhaps paving the way for Jeff Saturday's exit. A person with knowledge of the deal says it's a three-year contract worth $10.8 million, with $5 million guaranteed. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because the team did not announce the terms. Colts general manager Ryan Grigson says Satele is the man they want to anchor their new line. Satele played two seasons in Miami and spent the last three in Oakland. He has made 74 starts since Miami drafted him in the second round in 2007. Saturday already has visited Green Bay and Tennessee, and there is speculation he might join Peyton Manning in Denver.

Thanks for the Memories-Jeff Saturday

The Colts have purged their roster of some of the all time greats, with more farewells in the works. This is the last (hopefully) of a recurring series saying farewell to Colts greats. With the signing of new center Samson Satele, it appears Jeff Saturday is gone as well. Portions of this essay originally appeared in Blue Blue: Tales of Glory of the Indianapolis Colts. Center...

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Green Bay Packers have signed free agent veteran  center Jeff Saturday.  We don’t have the specifics of the contract a this time. Saturday will be 37 years-old by the time the regular begins, I would think he has a year or two left, before he retires. Saturday was contemplating whether or not he was going to sign with the Titans or possibly...

Packers win out in chase for Jeff Saturday

When Peyton Manning finalized a deal to join the Broncos early this week, the general consensus was that his former teammate, center Jeff Saturday, would be following close behind him to sign up for a final run in Denver. That notion failed to materialize today, after Saturday reached agreement with Green Bay to become their starter up front, replacing a Pro Bowl player in Scott...

According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Denver Broncos would love to sign both center Jeff Saturday and tight end Jacob Tamme, who both played with quarterback Peyton Manning in Indianapolis.  The only problem is that there are other teams that they’ll have to fight off to land both of them. The Seattle Seahawks really want to sign Tamme, after losing John Carlson...

Saturday, Stokley expected to visit Broncos

(AP Photo/Ed Reinke) A week ago today, we speculated that the Broncos may bring back veteran receiver Brandon Stokley if the team landed Peyton Manning.  The next day, Stokley told 104.3 The Fan that he would sign with Denver if Manning asked him to. Manning must have just asked him to because NFL Network‘s Jason La Canfora is reporting that Stokley is “likely to be signed...
