Free agent long-snapper Matt Overton announced on Twitter he has officially signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Undrafted out of Western Washington University in 2007, Overton has had a pair of off-season stints with the Seattle Seahawks (2007, 2010) wedged between appearances in the Indoor Football League and the United Football League, where he played with the Florida Tuskers (2009) and Omaha Nighthawks (2010). Veteran Justin Snow has handled the long-snapping duties for the Colts in 192 games over the last 12 seasons and is signed through the 2012 season.

Seahawks looking at David DeCastro

Since Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle, he has had a strong influence on drafting Offensive Lineman in the NFL Draft. The Seahawks return four starters from last year’s line, losing only Left Guard Robert Gallery. The Seahawks pick 12th in the upcoming draft – and it’s becoming to look like they are looking long and [...]

The Seattle Seahawks new uniforms are interesting (Pictures)

Today was the release of Nike's new line of NFL uniforms and to be honest, most of them looked the same from their previous Reebok incarnations. However, the Seattle Seahawks got a new look for their new uniforms and I'm not sure whether I approve of them or want to throw them in the garbage: (Courtesy of Coed Magazine)

Andrew Luck’s tutor: Colts not drafting him would be a “mistake they’ll regret for years”

This sounds all too familiar. While speaking to Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star, Andrew Luck’s personal QB coach made a bold statement that is reminiscent of what was told to Jim Irsay and Bill Polian 14 years ago when the Indianapolis Colts had the #1 pick in the draft. Back then, the individual was Peyton Manning. He informed the Colts that he really would like to play...

David Hawthorne expected to re-sign with the Seahawks

According to 710 ESPN Radio in Seattle, ESPN’s John Clayton indicated that negotiations between the Seattle Seahawks and linebacker David Hawthorne have been “intensifying” and a deal should get done soon. “I would have to think he’s going to probably to come back on a two- or three-year deal,” said Clayton.  “[I] wouldn’t be surprised if they could get something...

Naughty Nurse: Indianapolis Colts hope for reincarnation

The Colts flat-lined early last season without Peyton Manning and behind the likes of QB Dan Orlovsky. Our Naughty Nurse says the franchise needs more than a little TLC. They need to be reincarnated in the image of the 1998 Colts.....

With Hawthorne gone, do the Seahawks turn to Kuechly?

There were reports a couple of days ago that should nothing weird happen, the Seahawks had came to the conclusion that David DeCastro was a likely fit. Then David Hawthorne spurned the Seahawks to go play for the Saints.   So where does this leave their draft board?   David DeCastro is still a possibility [...]

Seahawks Won't Rush WR Sidney Rice Back From Shoulder Surgeries

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said in an interview with CBSSports.com that he wants wide receiver Sidney Rice to be 100 percent healthy before he returns to the field. Carroll said at the NFL Annual Meeting that Rice, who had surgery on both shoulders this offseason, also had a minor knee procedure done. "I saw him last week, and he’s working out hard," Carroll said. "...

Colts reincarnated

Scott Kacsmar (yes, our own Captain Comeback) says the 2012 Colts are hoping for a reincarnation as something better. He wisely tempers our expectations however with this prognosis: Totally premature 2012 diagnosis: It’s going to be a real struggle for the Colts in 2012. Unless Chuck Pagano is the next coach to get the “genius” label, Andrew Luck exceeds the hype with an incredible...

NFL Draft 2012: RGIII’s Agent Denies Private Workout with Colts

Coming to many folks’ surprise, the Indianapolis Colts have seriously been considering quarterback Robert Griffin III as the No. 1 overall pick over Andrew Luck. However, the search could now officially be over after RGII’s agent cleared the air. The Colts held a private workout for Luck today, but they also asked Griffin. However, it was denied. What??? Really?!?! Owner Jim...

Lynch Goes Beast Mode On The Big Screen

We all know Marshawn Lynch is a star on the football field, but he’s taken on a new venture over the offseason: acting. Lynch has been cast in the upcoming feature film “Matt’s Chance”, written and directed by Nicholas Gyeney of Mirror Images, Ltd. Lynch isn’t the only famous name you’ll hear from the 90 minute film, though. “Matt’s Chance” also features actors...

The Seahawks Are Uniform Reveal Champions

BEEF MOE LIGHT The NFL media borg has settled in New York to give Nike a day-long commercial for their new NFL uniforms and merchandise. That’s nice; Nike doesn’t get nearly enough presence in the sports world. I only hope they can extend the same courtesy to Gatorade. The biggest news of the day is the dramatic changes made to the Seahawks uniform, which haS gone from ghastly...

Nike Reveals Their Uniforms for the 2012 Season (Photos)

Nike revealed their uniforms for the 2012 season as they take over Reebok as the official sponsor for the NFL. I really dig the uniforms. Here’s one for my favorite team, the Colts: I’d say the Seattle Seahawks also have some pretty sick ones as well. Here are the photos, via Black Sports Online (click to enlarge):

Saints Agree To Terms With LB David Hawthorne

Free agent linebacker David Hawthorne has agreed to terms on a five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago reports. Financial terms were not disclosed. Hawthorne, who has spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks after signing as an undrafted free agent out of TCU in 2008, had an extended visit with the New Orleans...
