TEAMS: Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, Stanford Cardinal
Two somewhat significant moves were made by the Colts today, starting with the waiving of UDFA safety Micah Pellerin.
Taking Pellerin's spot on the roster is cornerback Korey Lindsey, a seventh round pick by the Bengals in 2011. Lindsey was cut by the Bengals before training camp, and then was claimed by the Arizona Cardinals, which whom he spent most of his time on the practice squad.
The Colts also made progress on their 2012 draft picks' contracts today, signing T.Y. Hilton to a four-year deal, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports (and then confirmed by Irsay a little while later). This leaves Andrew Luck, Coby Fleener, and Dwayne Allen unsigned.
Again, I urge fans not to be worried over the time it is taking to get these rookies signed. Only seven of the 32 teams have currently signed all of their picks, and four teams have yet to sign any of them. Fleener and Allen have been very energetic participants in OTAs, and Luck has expressed significant displeasure in ...

Colts Sign 3rd Rd Pick WR T.Y. Hilton To A 4-Year Deal
Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, the Indianapolis Colts third-round draft pick, has signed a four-year contract with the club. Exact terms of the deal, which was confirmed this evening by owner Jim Irsay, were not immediately available but the agreement closely resembles that of the 92nd pick of the 2011 draft, Oakland tackle Joe Barksdale, who signed for $2.579 million, with a signing...
Why Andrew Luck Is The Unluckiest Player In The NFL
Let’s face it, coming into the NFL is a dream come true for many players. Working hard through high school and college to find themselves receiving a call from an NFL team and meeting the commissioner face to face is a big deal and one that would never be forgotten.
After the hoopla of combines, interviews and draft night what is left? The preparing and planning to prove...
Colts Claim Lindsey,Waive Pellerin
The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback Korey Lindsey off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals and waived safety Micah Pellerin.
Lindsey, 5-10, 194 pounds, was originally selected in the seventh round (207th overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was released by the Bengals on September 3 and claimed off waivers by the Cardinals on September...
Thoughts About Season Tickets
A couple of things have come up recently about season tickets that I wanted to respond to.
First, much has been made about whether there's much to make of the recent news that the Colts have yet to sell out their season tickets for 2012. On one extreme are those citing the hiring of Get Real Sports Sales and Jim Irsay's defensive tweets as signs of how dire the situation...
Colts getting close to signing Luck
The Indianapolis Colts are getting close to signing rookie quarterback Andrew Luck to his first NFL contract, according to Colts owner Jim Irsay.
"Talks with A Luck's agent,Will Wilson(the brother of Andrew's mother) have been productive," Irsay wrote on his Twitter account. "Team Counsel Dan Emerson n Will r getting close!
The great blackout myth
With the news that roughly 3,000 season tickets remain for the upcoming 2012 Indianapolis Colts campaign many in the national media have stated that blackouts are a risk. This is a terrible exaggeration as the risk of a blackout is pretty limited.
To avoid a blackout not all 63,000 seats in Lucas Oil Stadium must be filled. The NFL only requires all non-club, non-suite and non-obstructed...
To Use or Not to Use: The Forgotten Fullback
Over the past decade, the Colts have rarely used a fullback. It simply was unnecessary with a two tight end system and a quarterback who excelled in using his tight ends in the passing game. That lack of a fullback has caused many Colts fans to forget about the fullback when speculating on the 2012 roster.
It's not just Colts' fans that forget about them though. If your...
Patriots release Anthony Gonzalez: Is he done?
The Patriots brought in seemingly a million wide receivers this offseason, one which was Anthony Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a former 1st round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2007 NFL Draft, but thanks to injuries, he’s played just 2 games over the last 3 seasons, catching 5 passes. The Patriots didn’t have a ton of room at wide receiver and likely just brought Anthony Gonzalez...
TY Hilton: Previewing The Colts Rookie WR
The Indianapolis Colts had an awful 2011 season with a 2-14 record, but on the bright side, the Colts were able to have an excellent draft day. Of course they drafted Andrew Luck the first overall pick, but they were also able to pick up two tight ends and wide receiver, Eugene “T.Y.” Hilton. Hilton was taken in the third round as the 92nd pick.
Hilton was a star wide receiver...
The Situation with the Colts' Season Tickets
The Colts are in the Post-Peyton Manning era, and they are already feeling the effects of it; season ticket sales have dropped and they were forced to find ways to get rid of 3000 tickets.
The Colts are having some trouble finding some butts in the seats. The Colts are about 3000 season tickets short.
