Injuries are forcing the Indianapolis Colts to improvise their tight-end friendly game plan.
On Wednesday, new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton noted that with only two healthy tight ends on the roster - rookie Justice Cunningham and Dominique Jones - the Colts are trying different things. Offensive tackle Bradley Sowell has already worked a little bit at tight end, and other linemen may get a shot there, too, depending on how long the two key injuries linger.
Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener, Indy's top two tight ends, both missed practice Tuesday. Allen is expected to be out a couple of weeks with a right foot injury. Fleener sat out Tuesday with a concussion but participated in the team's walkthrough Wednesday morning. It's not clear if he'll practice Wednesday afternoon.
