Colts, two-time All-Pro CB Stephon Gilmore agree to two-year, $23M deal

Only hours after it was reported that safety Darian Thompson had visited with the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, the team reportedly reeled in a different player to add to their secondary.

Gilmore visited with the Colts on Wednesday and had been rumored to be drawing interest from a host of other teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams. Josina Anderson broke the Gilmore news on Friday morning and also reported that the two-time First-Team All-Pro had seen interest from the Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills.

During his 10 seasons split between the Bills, Panthers and New England Patriots, Gilmore has made five Pro Bowl rosters and also was named the 2019 AP Defensive Player of the Year. The 31-year-old led the NFL in passes defended and tied for the lead in interceptions the year he won Defensive Player of the Year with 20 and six, respectively.

In eight games last season, Gilmore recorded 16 tackles, two interceptions and two passes defensed. He's registered 427 tackles, 116 passes defended and 27 interceptions over 132 career regular-season games.
