Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) ruled out vs. Jaguars
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. will miss Sunday's game at Jacksonville with a quadriceps injury.

Pittman was listed as questionable Friday after missing Thursday's practice before being downgraded to out on Saturday.

Also Saturday, the Colts elevated wide receiver Keke Coutee and kicker Chase McLaughlin to the active roster from the practice squad.

Pittman caught nine passes for 121 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening 20-20 tie with the Houston Texans.

Pittman, 24, has played in 31 of a possible 34 regular-season games since being selected by the Colts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Coutee, 25, will add wide receiver depth for the Colts. He spent training camp with the team and was signed to the practice squad on Aug. 31, but he knows the Colts offense, playing with the team in 2021. He also spent time with the Texans from 2018-20.

In 25 NFL games (10 starts), Coutee has 84 catches for 946 yards and four touchdowns and five carries for 14 yards and a touchdown. He started one postseason contest with Houston in 2018 and had 11 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown.

The Colts cut kicker Rodrigo Blankenship on Tuesday after a crucial miss on a field goal attempt in Week 1 and signed McLaughlin and Lucas Havrisik to the practice squad.

McLaughlin, 26, has kicked in 31 games for six different teams in his career, including the Colts in 2019. He has made 37 of 49 field goal attempts and converted 97.1 percent of his PATs.

The Colts ruled out linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) and rookie receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) for the Week 2 game against the Jaguars (0-1).
