The Washington Commanders placed four players on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp. However, one player is coming back after just two days in camp.

The Commanders announced Thursday afternoon that center Chase Roullier has been activated from the PUP list.

Roullier suffered a season-ending broken left fibula during a Week 8 game last year against the Denver Broncos.

The expectation was always Roullier would be the first off the PUP list sometime during training camp.

Last month the veteran discussed his injury and rehabbing.

“There was some pretty serious things happening with my ankle,” Roullier said (h/t Commanders Wire). “I had to have three separate things happening to the ankle, without getting into too many details about it. Some recovery on the ligament side, as well as the bones. A lot of stuff to recover from, but it’s gone very well. Our staff has done a great job with me.”

Roullier’s return boosts Washington’s offensive line, especially with the loss of Brandon Scherff in free agency. He’s started 61 games since being drafted in the sixth round in 2017.

He inked a four-year, $40.5 million contract extension last year. Getting Roullier back also means Wes Schweitzer can shift back to guard and potentially create competition with free agent pickup Trai Turner at right guard.
