The Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection committee hearings began in prime time on Thursday night. On Wednesday, Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio created quite a stir with comments regarding the early-2021 riots, referring to the event as a "dust-up."
Del Rio later apologized for his words, but on Friday, head coach Ron Rivera announced that the comments would cost his colleague some money.

A former head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars and then-Oakland Raiders, Del Rio's initial comments on Wednesday came in the wake of his controversial tweet comparing protests following the killing of George Floyd with the Capitol Insurrection.
