Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke will make his season debut as a starter Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Unfortunately for Heinicke and the Commanders, he will be shorthanded at wide receiver. Rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson will not play, head coach Ron Rivera reportedly told NFL Network’s Stacey Dales.

Dotson will miss his third consecutive game after reaggravating his hamstring injury during practice this week. He was ramping up to return this week when he pulled up during position drills on Thursday, holding his hamstring.

The Commanders listed him as questionable on their final game status report Friday.

Dyami Brown replaced Dotson in Weeks 5 and 6 against the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears, respectively. However, Brown is out for Sunday’s game against the Packers with a groin injury. He had two touchdown catches against the Titans.

Washington will also be without tight end Logan Thomas, who had been ruled out with Brown on Friday. Thomas is nursing a calf injury and will also miss his third consecutive game.
