PLAYERS: Andy Reid
TEAMS: Philadelphia Eagles
Sean O'Driscoll believes Nottingham Forest will not suffer from a lack of self-belief this season as they have so many potential match-winners. Simon Cox, Billy Sharp, Henri Lansbury, Adlene Guedioura, Simon Gillett and Danny Collins are among 11 new signings, adding to the likes of Lewis McGugan, Andy Reid and Dexter Blackstock already at the club. O'Driscoll is aware of the quality in his squad and believes his players will never be short on confidence when they look at those around them in the dressing room. "Resilience comes from the belief that in the squad we have, within the team you pick for every game, there is somebody in there who can produce something," O'Driscoll told the media at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's East Midlands showdown against Derby at the City Ground. "They look around the dressing room and they think, 'He can do something. He could come on and make a difference'. There is a balance to the team and our bench, at the minute, is as strong as it can be. When you look at Championship sides, if you analyse their bench that will give you an idea of how strong the club is. "The subs in the last few games have been terrific. People have spoken about our resilience, but we have resilience because we look at our bench and think, 'We can change things here'. That has given us the chance to get back into things against Birmingham and Crystal Palace."

Andy Reid does his best to diffuse Philadelphia Eagles’ latest quarterback controversy

Image via Andy Reid didn’t say that there is a chance that he would replace Mike Vick with Nick Foles. That’s not what he meant when he said, “We’ll evaluate as we go here.” You misinterpreted his words. It’s just semantics, man. That was Reid’s assertion when he met with the media on Wednesday, at least. According to Reid, he was unaware of how is comments...

Reid, Eagles unconcerned with run-pass breakdown

A woman tailgating before the Eagles' home opener screamed ''Run, Andy, Run'' in the parking lot outside Lincoln Financial Field, holding a sign to express the same sentiment in case nobody was listening. Fans have been imploring Andy Reid to run the ball ever since he became Philadelphia's head coach in 1999. Though Reid has been the most successful coach...

Michael Vick’s days numbered in Philly? Reid inadvertently sets off firestorm

A slip of the tongue, perhaps? With a couple of misspoken words, Eagles coach Andy Reid started a firestorm of speculation about the future of franchise QB Michael Vick. “Right now, we’re with Michael. That’s what we’re doing. We’ll evaluate that as we go.” With that, an immediate QB controversy was created. Would Andy Reid pull the plug on his $20 million QB and go with...

Andy Reid, change is desperately needed

LeSean McCoy After two one point wins and a blow-out loss, fans including myself believe that a change is in order. No, I am not calling for Nick Foles to replace Michael Vick at quarterback. Although this may be the belief of the populus, I for one believe he is not ready. Foles who in pre-season did well enough to earn the backup quarterback spot is not ready for the BEATING he...

Eagles learn yet again that Larry Fitzgerald is really, really good

This dude seems to have the Eagles' number time and time again. There is so much still to be said about the Eagles brutal loss on Sunday to the Arizona Cardinals. And, thanks to Andy Reid Philadelphia is once again in the national spotlight as signs of a quarterback controversy emerge from Reid’s statement that he’ll evaluate Mick Vick’s performance and whether to replace...

Philadelphia Eagles fans again prove to be jackasses by urging Andy Reid to start unproven rookie Nick Foles over the dynamic Michael Vick

With electric Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick struggling badly with turnovers, insatiable critics and myopic fans continue urging head coach Andy Reid to hand the ball to unproven rookie Nick Foles. The 6-foot, 215 pound Vick, who has thrown 114 … Continue reading →

NFL Rumors: Marty Mornhinweg Allowing Michael Vick To Make Too Many Mistakes For Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles have been a pass-happy offense ever since Andy Reid took the head coaching job. When he aligns himself with offensive coaches such as Marty Mornhinweg, that philosophy will only get stronger and become more evident. It was the case with Donovan McNabb, and now it is the case with Michael Vick. The problem is, it just isn’t working. The Eagles have LeSean...

Are the Eagles Poised to Bounce Back Against the Giants?

After two narrow victories in the first two weeks, the Eagles got a reality check in a 27-6 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It’s still very early in the season and there is still a lot of football to be played. There are still a lot of question marks about this team. Can Michael Vick improve upon his ball security? Will Andy Reid make changes in his play calling? Will Juan...
