Police are investigating Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain's potential involvement in an incident at an Alabama residence where a man was assaulted and gunshots were heard on Tuesday night, FOXSports.com has learned.
McClain, a first-round pick of the Raiders in 2010, isn't currently a suspect in either the assault or the gunshots, according to Decatur police Lt. John Crouch.
"McClain is believed to be one of several people there," Crouch told FOXSports.com. "They were all acquaintances of the person who lives there."
Police responded to reports of gunfire at around 10:20 p.m. local time and found a man who had sustained facial injuries from a physical altercation. The man refused to be treated by medical workers at the scene but later went to a nearby hospital on his own. He was treated and released.
Crouch said no gun had been found on the scene, but detectives began looking into the matter on Wednesday and continued on Thursday.
