By all accounts, Cordarrelle Patterson was the most physically gifted receiver in this year's draft class. Such is the reason the Vikings traded up in the first round to snag the ex-Volunteer.
And they could soon have a megastar on their hands.
Former University of Tennessee receivers coach Charlie Baggett, who helped recruit Patterson, recently told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the 22-year-old could be more explosive than Randy Moss.
“When you look at just the sheer speed and athleticism, Cordarrelle may have even more explosion than Randy had. Honestly. He’s that special," Baggett said.
Realizing that the prediction may be a tad premature, Baggett followed by warning not to put Cordarrelle into Canton just yet.
“I don’t want people misinterpreting me as saying Cordarrelle is better or will be better than Randy Moss,” Baggett said. “When it comes to everything else that’s needed to be an elite NFL receiver, he has a long way to go to reach Randy. But he definite...
