Found November 25, 2013 on Black and Gold Forever:
Backup cornerback and special teamer, Curtis Brown, will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL suffered in yesterday's win over the Browns. He will require surgery and is to be placed on the injured reserve list. Brown has not made a tremendous impact this season recording only 6 tackles. However, it is never a good thing to lose depth late in the season. Especially now that the Steelers appear to be making a significant push for that AFC WIld Card berth. Right now, Pittsburgh sits in the 7th spot right behind the Titans for the 2nd Wild Card berth. Other injury related news: Nose tackle Steve McLendon will not play Thursday vs. the Ravens. He is currently in a walking boot recovering from a sprained ankle. Brett Keisel, LaMarr Woodley, and Shamarko Thomas are all looking good for Thursday at this point - we will know more after tomorrow's practice. (Source: Steelers Depot)

Steelers Place CB Curtis Brown On IR; Sign CB Isaiah Green

The Pittsburgh Steelers made an expected roster move Tuesday morning as cornerback Curtis Brown was placed on injured and cornerback Isaiah Green was promoted from the practice squad to fill his spot on the 53 man roster. Brown tore the ACL in his left knee while covering a punt Sunday in the win over the Cleveland Browns. He will now undergo surgery over the course of the next week...

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Solid Once Again Using The No-Huddle

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense ran more no-huddle Sunday in the 27-11 win over the Cleveland Browns and with fairly good results. According to the official play-by-play stats, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was 9-of-13 for 86 yards and a touchdown using the no-huddle. One of those incompletions was a spike, so in reality he was 9-of-12 passing. The touchdown was the long pass to...

Is Kelvin Beachum The Next Hines Ward?

By Michael K. Reynolds In 1998, using the second of their two third round draft picks, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected one of the greatest receivers in their gloried history. He was part receiver, part running back, with a dash of quarterback sprinkled in for good measure. He was Hines Ward, a tough as gristle player from the University of Georgia and he came into the NFL ready...

Antonio Brown Rewarding the Steelers’ Faith in Him

Prior to the 2012 season, wide receiver Mike Wallace turned down the Steelers’ offer of a 5 year, 42.5 million dollar contract extension. Realizing that Wallace had very big dollar signs in his eyes, they gave that extension to teammate Antonio Brown instead. With so many decisions from the Steelers front office being questioned and criticized lately, this was one of their trademark...

Steelers NT Steve McLendon Leaves Browns Game With Left Ankle/Leg Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers nose tackle Steve McLendon has left the game against the Cleveland Browns late in the first quarter with what looks like a left leg or ankle injury. We will update his status shortly. McLendon will be replaced in the base defense by Al Woods if he can't return. It is now being reported that McLendon is being carted off to the locker room for X-Rays and his...

Ben Roethlisberger Doubles as Punter Against Browns, Pins Cleveland at One-Yard Line (GIF)

Big Ben showed off his big leg on Sunday afternoon. While the Steelers were cruising along against the lowly Browns, leading 20-3 in the fourth quarter, Ben Roethlisberger decided to give his arm a rest and unleash his surprisingly impressive punting skills. Facing a fourth-and-18 from the Cleveland 29-yard line, Roethlishberger remained on the field to the surprise of many. The...

Steelers without Woodley, Keisel against Browns

Steelers starting linebacker LaMarr Woodley, the team's top pass rusher, and defensive end Brett Keisel are inactive for the second straight week with injuries. Both will miss Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. With Woodley (calf) out, the Steelers will start rookie Jarvis Jones in his spot. Ziggy Hood will fill in for Keisel (foot) as the Steelers (4-6) try to...

Steelers’ Win Sets Up Huge Thursday Night Game With Ravens

The Cleveland Browns ran more plays than the Pittsburgh Steelers did. They had more total yards than the Steelers did too and they also had more first downs as well. Unfortunately for them, they also led in the turnover department as the Browns turned it over four times while the Steelers didn’t do so at all. Once again, turnovers proved to be the story as the Steelers earned a...

Success Came Only In Glimpses For Healing DeCastro

By Matthew Marczi As I pointed out yesterday, second-year starting offensive guard David DeCastro had a rough game against the front four of the Detroit Lions in what was probably his worst game of the season. He suffered an ankle injury four games ago that caused him to miss the Steelers’ match-up against the New England Patriots. Prior to the injury, it really looked as though...

Steelers Heading to Baltimore on Thanksgiving

There are few things as awesome--or as American--as Thanksgiving football. The Steelers haven't really had the opportunity to play on Thankgiving too much. The last time they did well, let's not get into it. Thanksgiving is a great stage for the Steelers to face Baltimore for the second time this season. Both teams are 5-6, tied for second in the AFC North and fighting...

No Time left for Ben as Ravens prepare for Thanksgiving Night showdown with Steelers...

Apologies to the Guess Who, the Canadian rock group who scored big-time in the early '70's with the hit "No Time"... but that song defines exactly the defensive mission of the Baltimore Ravens (5-6) as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-6) in a short-week "must-win' Thanksgiving Day night game. If the Ravens give Ben Roethlisberger "no time...

Hritz: Steelers Versus Browns Preview and Prediction – Week Twelve

By Jeremy Hritz 27 points surrendered in the second quarter against the Detroit Lions last week, and the narrative for the remainder of the 2013 Pittsburgh Steelers season seemed to be headed back to NFL Draft discussions and potential top ten picks. But when the final seconds of the clock ticked away at Heinz Field, the Steelers earned their fourth victory 37-27, and somehow, put...

Steelers Inactives vs. Browns Week 12
