Cortland Finnegan's Agent Defends Client

Filed under: Texans, TitansEven though the NFL found Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan equally in the wrong for their fight last Sunday, fining both $25,000, the court of public opinion has been firmly against Finnegan. Though it was Johnson who instigated and accelerated the fight, it's Finnegan whose dirty reputation precedes him (a reputation he seemingly takes pride in, bragging about his quest to be the league's dirtiest player). And it's that reputation that has criticism pointed more at Finnegan than Johnson, one of the league's quieter star players. One anonymous GM, in fact, called Finnegan an "absolute scumbag" to Pro Football Talk. Now Finnegan's agent, Terry Watson, has sent an e-mail to Pro Football Talk defending his client.
