The game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys that is going down on Sunday night could decide the fates of both coaches on each team in Andy Reid and Jason Garrett.
Reid is most likely coaching his last couple of games with the Eagles while Garrett’s coaching career is also likely hanging in the balance of these next few games.
Reid can get a job almost anywhere he pleases if fired, and Times of Trenton reporter Marc Eckel thinks he has an idea of where Reid may possibly land. If you agree with Eckel’s report, Reid could be facing and observing his next franchise. That’s right.
According to reports and sources close to Eckel, Reid thinks he could be the next coach of the Cowboys.
“I know a lot of people think Andy is going to San Diego next year, and I can see that happening,” the source said. “But I keep hearing Dallas. I think he can end up with the Cowboys. As a matter of fact, I think he will end up with the Cowboys, if Jason is fired.”
Rumors have circulated about Reid possibly taking time off, due to the death of his son and just the grind of being a head coach. All of Reid’s children are grown and I think coaching is what he likes to do. So do those closest to him.
“Andy’s a coach; that’s what he does,” one said. “I don’t see him going into the TV booth, although he probably could. I see him coaching somewhere else if he’s not in Philly.
“I think Andy would be a good fit with the Cowboys. I feel he would get along fine with Jerry (Jones). It would be the two of them working together, no middle man to get in the way.”
Where do you think Reid ends up?

Pretty much everyone knows that Andy Reid will not be the head coach in Philadelphia after this season.
If the team’s owner demanding more than a .500 year before the season began wasn’t enough, the Eagles going 3-9 so far and showing new depths of futility on the fumble and injury fronts surely is. The question now is when Reid will be let go.
Or is it? As the Eagles prepared...
It’s almost a certainty to this point that Andy Reid will be fired as coach of the Eagles after the season. It’s only an almost certainty because owner Jeff Lurie said last year that average wasn’t good enough and Reid will not survive another average year. Following another lost, the Eagles fired another member of the coaching staff. Nope, it's still not Andy Reid. Early Monday morning, the Eagles have announced that they have relieved defensive line coach Jim Washburn of his duties.
The team has announced the hiring of Tommy Basher. Basher was the defensive line coach in 1985, and 1999-2005.
Updates to come.
Former Arizona Wildcat Nick Foles will be the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback for the remainder fo the season, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Andy Reid made the announcement today, and it is effective immediately.
The Eagles have fired Jim Washburn, the colorful defensive line coach who brought the wide-9 to Philadelphia. Washburn will be replaced by Tommy Brasher. Brasher coached the defensive line for the Eagles from 1999-2005. Brasher is likely just a stop gap until another coach comes in next year and hires his own defensive line coach.

When Sean Payton’s contract extension with the Saints was recently voided by the NFL, it was believed that the Cowboys and Eagles would spend the early part of the off-season wrangling to secure a coach to tell them to DO THEIR JOB. The talk of that has dissipated somewhat in the last few weeks, with other high-profile coaching candidates rumored to be considered for those jobs...
