Veteran linebacker Brian Urlacher is an unrestricted free agent and it's unclear if the Chicago Bears want him on their roster for a 14th consecutive season. Judging by some of his recent Twitter posts, Urlacher, 34, appears to be preparing for another NFL season. But will the likely future Hall of Famer be making that return with the Bears? Chris Boden of CSNChicago.com speculated Sunday that if Urlacher is willing to play for another team, the Dallas Cowboys could be a possibility because Urlacher's former defensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli, is now with the Cowboys. However, this potential addition seems unlikely for the Cowboys. Urlacher, who battled knee and hamstring injuries throughout the 2012 season, plays middle linebacker, the position that will likely be occupied by Sean Lee. Urlacher doesn't seem to have the ability to play either of the outside positions and even if he did, he wouldn't start over Bruce Carter and the Cowboys would probably rather go with a younger option like Alex Albright or Caleb McSurdy on the other side. Dallas also seems to have little cap space to add someone who made 7.5 million last year. While interesting to speculate the addition of a player who has nine seasons of over 100 tackles, Urlacher just doesn't seem to be a fit with the Cowboys' financial situation or the current players on roster.
