This season the Indianapolis Colts' stud All-Pro Dwight Freeney had a career-low 5 sacks to go with his 12 total tackles. This was mainly because of his position movement from Defensive End to Outside Linebacker, due to coach Chuck Pagano's 3-4 defense as well as some minor injuries. Well, Freeney is going to be a free agent this offseason, and Indianapolis' local Fox station made a report stating that the team may focus more on revamping their offensive line to protect Andrew Luck as well as adding more offensive weapons.
It's hard to imagine a Colts' defense without Dwight Freeney, but it may finally be time for the two to part ways. That naturally brings up the question, would the Patriots be interested in signing the 32 year-old? I personally can't see this happening. The Patriots also run a 3-4 defense and with Chandler Jones showing plenty of potential plus Rob Ninkovich successfully making the transition to DE, there's really no need for Freeney o...

According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com, linebacker Dwight Freeney isn’t expected to re-sign with the Indianapolis Colts.
Let’s face it, Freeney isn’t a good fit as an outside linebacker in a 3-4. He’s a 4-3 defensive end and that ‘s it.
I’m not sure how much money Freeney will command in free agency since he’ll be turning 33 next month. My guess is he’ll get a...
You can say what you want about the outspoken, mercurial Colts owner, but one thing you can't say about him is that he isn't a man of his word.
Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com writes that Colts OLB Dwight Freeney is not expected to be back with the team next season.
This is hardly surprising given Freeney’s age and the fact that he no longer fits their defensive scheme. There was a lot of speculation last year that the Colts could look to trade Freeney, but his contract figure prevented them from doing so.
Free agent linebacker Dwight Freeney isn't expected to return to the Colts next season. SOURCE: Peter King, Sports Illustrated.Fantasy Spin:Freeney's sack total this season (five) was his lowest since 2007. He wasn't a great fit for Chuck Pagano's 3-4 scheme in Indianapolis and would probably function better as a defensive end on a team that uses a 4-3 defensive configuration.
"At the end of all this, media, all the press, all the talk, the stuff building up, it's just a football game...." sounds like Dwight Freeney.
