The Penalty Flag:
In case you haven’t heard, the Baltimore Ravens had absolutely no offense and are now taking a ton of criticism. Fans on the Ravens Official Message Board are calling for Cam Cameron’s firing, some are questioning Joe Flacco‘s ability to become an elite quarterback. Some fans are even beginning to question John Harbaugh and wonder if he can be the guy and can get the job done as head coach. After Monday night’s offensive disaster, I don’t blame them at all for being mad and upset. There is even a “petition” to fire Cam Cameron, again after Monday I don’t blame them but I think Harbaugh & Flacco need to have some of the blame taken off of them. I mean how do you expect him to succeed when the offensive line is in shambles and can’t protect Joe Flacco and open up holes for Ray Rice. An offensive coordinator’s job is supposed to be to put the players in the best position to succeed, and Cam Cameron didn’t even bother to do so on Monday Night. So while everyone in Baltimore is ready with their pitch forks until Cam is no longer offensive coordinator, I have an idea on the next offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens. [...]
BEST OF MAXIM
Joe Flacco’s worst game of the season, before a nationally televised audience no less, left serious questions on whether or not he is a good enough quarterback to lead the Ravens to the promise land. The fourth-year quarterback was just 21 out of 38, throwing for a season low 137 yards and was intercepted on [...]
Joe Flacco didn't come to the Ravens' rescue Monday night. As poorly as the Ravens' offense played in the 12-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Flacco still got his opportunity to step into a phone booth, wiggle into his superhero tights and carry the team on a last-minute, game-winning, mistake-cover-upping touchdown drive.
But the Ravens offensive coordinator hints that Flacco still needs helpOn Wednesday, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco raised a few eyebrows when he admitted the team's hurry-up offense probably would go a bit faster if he were calling his own plays instead of looking to the sidelines and waiting for offensive coordinator Cam Cameron to send in the play. One of the Ravens most glaring...
Ravens P.R. guru Kevin Byrne has a blog on the team’s official website. The latest entry contains an interesting revelation regarding a recent encounter between coach John Harbaugh and quarterback Joe Flacco. Byrne initially writes that Harbaugh and Flacco got into “a little bit of a wrestling match” this week. Byrne later explains that it…
What I'm going to do in this space today, at least until John Harbaugh's press conference, is look at a crucial decision made in Monday night's 12-7 loss to Jacksonville Jaguars.
Here's the situation: The Ravens just scored their first and only touchdown of the game. There were two minutes and two seconds left in the game. Baltimore had two of their timeouts remaining...
For years, the Baltimore Ravens have tried - without success - to put together an offense that could match the play of its esteemed defense.
They hoped that several offseason moves and the maturation of quarterback Joe Flacco would make a difference this season. For a few weeks, the offense was rather productive.
Then came Monday night's performance in Jacksonville, a stinker...
Monday night was a disaster and it will be nice to move on for the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore is 3-0 and blowing teams away at M&T Bank Stadium. So far, in Baltimore, the Ravens have beaten opponents by 28, 17 and 15. Don't expect any of that to change Sunday afternoon.
Joe Flacco and the offense is coming off one of the worst performances in franchise history. I would...
Earlier today, I wrote about John Harbaugh's decision to have Billy Cundiff try and execute an onside kick with the Ravens down 9-7 in the fourth quarter Monday night.
At his afternoon press conference, Harbaugh defended his decision saying it was the right one, according to multiple reports.
I'm still going to disagree with him and believe that had they kicked it deep...
