The Patriots are thin at the linebacker position and would be wise to add a veteran free agent. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com thinks the Patriots should sign former Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu to help add depth to this position. Tatupu played in a 4-3 system in Seattle and would help the Patriots defense who recently switched to a similar 4-3 defense.
At this point Tatupu is just looking to sign with a team and would be lucky to sign a contract with a Super Bowl contender. The Patriots would be smart to sign Tatupu for the veteran minimum to help bring experience and leadership.
