Found October 04, 2013 on Ex Pats:
This might be the news we have been waiting for. This may be a hint that Rob Gronkowski could be making his return to the Patriots line very soon. On Thursday, the Patriots released tight end Zach Sudfeld. While Sudfeld made positive waves with his play in the preseason, perhaps we overestimated his abilities .Sudfeld played three games and didn't record an offensive stat. He played only 15 percent of the team's offensive snaps this season -- and five less than tight end Matthew Mulligan in Week 4 -- and Sudfeld was a non-factor on New England's special teams. Taken all that together, Sudfeld didn't have a place on the current Patriots roster, especially when Gronkowski returns to the field. Sudfeld would be eligible for the Patriots practice squad if no other team puts in a waiver claim on him. Do you think this means we will see Gronk back on the field this sunday? The Jets have picked up Zach Sudfeld, who was waived by the Patriots on Thursday.Fantasy Spin:Sudfeld's ADP soared after he was impressive during training camp and the preseason, but he failed to make an impact when the season started. Patriots Release TE Zach Sudfeld

A good sign that a team is about to release you is when you barely play any snaps. That was the case for Patriots TE Zach Sudfeld. CBS Sports has reported that the Pats have decided to part ways with the player that was supposedly going to fill the void of Aaron Hernandez. That didn’t exactly go according to plan, but all hope for Sudfeld isn’t lost. If no one claims him from...

Zach Sudfeld claimed by the New York Jets

Well, isn't that funny. The Patriots released struggling rookie tight end Zach Sudfeld yesterday, after the tight end did very little except fumble, cause interceptions, and drop onside kicks. Patriots release Zach Sudfeld, place Vince Wilfork on IR
