Michael Vick is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles right now. Barring some unforeseen injury Vick should remain that way for the rest of the season. Head coach Andy Reid is feeling the hot seat. Both Vick and Reid need an Eagles appearance in the playoffs. While Reid could simply take Vick out of the lineup he knows that his job is tied to the talented but inconsistent Vick.
Nick Foles may have looked great in a preseason game but the Eagles are not turning to him during the regular season. Reid knows throwing a rookie quarterback into the mix with the season halfway over is not going to work for this team.
The Eagles need to make the playoffs for the future of Vick and Reid.
Multiple rumblings around the league have suggested that Vick will be gone if the Eagles fail to make the playoffs. What is new? Andy Reid will likely be gone too.
A new coach, a new quarterback in 2013. That is the reality of most football teams. The next Eagles coach may not want Vick to be his quarterback. Vick has been a turnover machine this season and ball control is something that the Eagles will focus on. Keeping around an inconsistent quarterback is not at the top of the list for any coach, especially when the next talent is just a draft away.

Eagles stare accusingly at Michael Vick and Andy Reid

1. Unless Michael Vick leads Eagles to the playoffs, league sources believe that this will be the quarterback’s last season in Philadelphia. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 14, 2012 No one in Philadelphia says "Dream Team" anymore. Eagles fire defensive coach Juan Castillo

In what could prove to be a butt-saving moving Andy Reid has fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. In a media statement that was released to Players View on Monday, Reid refuted the idea that Castillo was out the door. “That’s the way I’m looking at it right now,” Reid said. “That’s the way I’m looking at it as I stand right here.” Today? Reid was kind towards...

Why the Philadelphia Eagles Offense is Struggling to Score Points

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIREMichael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles offense have been struggling to put points on the board through the first 5 weeks of the 2012 season. The question is, why? With the exception of left tackle Jason Peters, center Jason Kelce and a different full back, this is the same offensive unit that averaged almost 400 yards of offense and 24.8 points per game...

Enigmatic Eagles seek answers after blown leads

When Andy Reid uses the word ''pathetic'' to describe the performance of the Philadelphia Eagles, it must've been really bad. The Eagles blew a 10-point lead with 5:18 left and lost 26-23 in overtime to Detroit on Sunday to fall to 3-3 going into their bye week. It was the second straight game they wasted a late lead, a common theme over the past two seasons...

Lions keep season alive with a thrilling overtime win

I would like to take this opportunity to nominate the Lions for the award of most entertaining team to watch. With them, there's never a dull moment. The Lions trailed the Eagles 13 to 23 with about five minutes left to play, but in classic fashion, they never gave up, and their late game efforts culminated with a Jason Hanson game winning field goal on the Lions' first...
