Former Third Round Pick, Offensive Tackle Oniel Cousins, and Wide Receiver Justin Harper were among nine players who were released by the Ravens on Saturday.
The Ravens will still need to make one more cut to get the the NFL mandated 80 players by Tuesday.
Others let go were offensive tackle Brady Bond and tight end Jonathan Stupar along with five undrafted rookies: center Ryan Bartholomew (Syracuse), defensive tackle Cornell Banks (Fresno State), linebacker Anthony Leon (Arkansas), wide receiver Rodney Bradley (Hawaii) and wide receiver Terrell Zachery (Auburn).
Cousins was never able to establish himself as the Ravens had hoped when he was drafted in the Third Round in 2008. He had four career starts but most Raven fans remember his nightmare performance against Lamarr Woodley in 2009. he was recently moved to Guard but once Baltimore signed three Offensive lineman last week it looked obvious that Cousins wouldn’t be around for much longer.
Harper, a 7th Round pick out of Virginia Tech in 2008 was a perennial practice squad player. The impressive play of rookie LaQuan Williams made Harper expendable.
