Robert Griffin III's sprained right knee will keep him out of the starting lineup Sunday when the Washington Redskins visit the Cleveland Browns in a game with vital playoff implications. The Redskins announced Saturday night that fellow rookie Kirk Cousins will make his first career start as Redskins (7-6) try to run their winning streak to five games and keep the pressure on the first-place New York Giants in the NFC East. Griffin tweeted: ''The decision was not my own... But I will be there for my team!!! In every way I possibly can''. The Redskins did not say whether Griffin will be active for the game, or whether veteran Rex Grossman, who has been an inactive third-string quarterback for every game this season, will serve as the primary backup to Cousins. Griffin, who is tied with New England's Tom Brady for the NFL lead in passer rating and whose popularity has soared in a few short months as a 22-year-old newcomer to the league, was injured when he...

Redskins-Browns Open Thread

Griffin III continues to practice with Redskins

Injured rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III practiced for a third consecutive day as the Washington Redskins prepared for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. A suspension, only, would be cowardly by ESPN

ESPN TV-personality, Rob Parker, was suspended today by the network for his insensitive and disparaging racial remarks in regards to Washington Redskins rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III. Just in case you missed it, here is what Parker said about RGIII “Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? … He’s not real. OK, [...]

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III only participated in individual drills this week and didn’t take any first team snaps in practice. “Redskins players tell me RG3 has only done individual drills this week, no first team reps at all. He’s thrown to receivers but Cousins taken all 1st team reps. However he is truly a game...

Redskins visit the home of Wahoo

It’s a special day with the worst team name in professional sports — also the last NFL franchise to integrate — visiting the home of the worst logo in the history of anything for the first time since 2004. With rookie phenom Robert Griffin III out today for the Washington Redskins, the Browns are poised for their fourth consecutive at-least-theoretically-Shurmur-saving win...

Arian Foster in response to Rob Parker: ‘I’m going to work on my blackness today’

By making some incredibly insensitive and idiotic comments about Robert Griffin III on Thursday, ESPN’s Rob Parker has created the buzz he was looking for. As you have probably heard, Parker questioned RG3′s blackness while pointing out that he is a Republican and has a white fiance, among other things. After Parker made the comments on “First Take,” a Twitter user decided...

Heading into this third season with the Washington Redskins, head coach Mike Shanahan had acquired an overall record of 11-21 and, once again there were concerns about the future of the Redskins. There were questions raised about the handling of players, the quality of play of the field and his use of the draft in recent years. Now however, the Redskins find themselves in the thick...
