The Dallas Cowboys are running out of options at OLB and they are trying to build a back up plan if DeMarcus Ware is hurt to a point where he can't play.
Ware is expected to play but sat out most of the second half last week and the Cowboys need some insurance, especially going up against RG3.
Ware’s back up Victor Butler has a groin injury and is iffy, so the Cowboys brought in free agent linebacker Matt Roth according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com.
Roth has ties to Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan when the two were in Cleveland.
The 30-year-old Roth had 3.5 sacks for the Jaguars last year before he was placed on injured reserve.
Roth hasn’t played in a 2012 game but would be familiar with the Cowboys system.
