NFL Injury Report:
Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was seen this week
in a sling for his surgically repaired right shoulder, and he told reporters,
including Charean Williams of The Star-Telegram, that he’ll also require a
minor procedure on his elbow.
"Just to get the bone fragments cleaned up," Ware
said from radio row at the Super Bowl, where he is making the rounds.
Ware was hampered by injuries throughout the season. He
hyperextended his right elbow in a December matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals,
and he went on to injure his shoulder against the New Orleans Saints. This
latter injury required surgery to repair a torn posterior labrum, a procedure
that took place on Jan. 10.
Ware continues to recovery from that surgery, but it sounds
like he’ll undergo a separate minor procedure to clean up bone fragments in his
elbow. Throughout the season he wore braces to protect his shoulder and elbow.
Ware admits that his injuries hampered his play in 2012. The
30-year-old totaled 56 tackles, 11.5 sacks and five forced fumbles for the
Cowboys this season.

DeMarcus Ware said Thursday that he wasn't pleased to learn that Rob Ryan had been fired earlier this month. Ryan, the Cowboys' defensive coordinator the previous two seasons, always seemed to be popular among the players he coached in Dallas.

While he says he's a fan of Tony Romo, former Cowboys quarterback great Troy Aikman believes it's time for Dallas to start looking for his successor.
Jerry Jones started down the right track after the Dallas Cowboys missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year. He questioned everything, including the coaching. The only thing he was sure of was Tony Romo, because when you look out into the NFL horizon this year, there isn’t much better.
Now, he’s changing his tune and showing complete confidence in the puppet he created...

Troy Aikman has been a loyal Tony Romo supporter for several years. The Hall of Fame quarterback and current FOX NFL analyst is rarely critical of the current Dallas Cowboys signal caller and says Romo is still the right guy for the franchise.
But with Romo turning 33 in April, Aikman said Thursday that it would be a good idea for his former team to start looking for their quarterback...
Troy Aikman doesn’t believe the Dallas Cowboys should replace Tony Romo, but he does believe they should draft a quarterback this year.
“I like the way the Packers did it for all those years,” Aikman said, per NFL.com. “To bring a guy in essentially every season, whether you draft him in the fourth round or fifth round or third round, whatever it might be. I think there’s...

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has often been compared to Brett Favre because of his high risk, high reward style of play. Now, ex-Cowboys great Troy Aikman is adding another link between Romo and Favre. According to Aikman, it’s time for Dallas to mimic the draft strategy that the Green Bay Packers used during much of Favre’s career.
“I like the way the Packers...
It certainly appears as if Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has been making the decisions on the coaching staff changes that have occurred over the last month.
After the season ended with the Cowboys missing the playoffs for a third consecutive year, Jones said things were going to be uncomfortable around Valley Ranch. Replacing defensive coordinator Rob Ryan...
New Orleans (LA) -- Former Dallas Cowboys fullback Daryl "Moose" Johnston has been out of the NFL for 13 years now, but it doesn't feel like he ever left. That's because he's been in NFL broadcast booths since the year he retired. While many of the Cowboys from that era have been all over the map, Moose's life has been steadier. He's been with his wife...
