The Cowboys have expressed interest in free-agent defensive lineman Amobi Okoye according to a source. Team officials have no plans at the moment to bring in any linemen for a workout but the team does have one roster spot available on their 90-man roster. The goal is to fill that spot with a defensive lineman. Okoye played in nine games last season for the Chicago Bears under then-defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli who is now the defensive line coach for the Cowboys. Okoye a 2007 first-round pick by the Houston Texans has 16 career sacks. The Cowboys have lost four defensive linemen to injury in the first three days of training camp. Starting defensive end Anthony Spencer was sent back to Dallas to undergo surgery on his left knee. The recovery time is two to four weeks. Starting defensive tackle Jay Ratliff hasn't practiced yet because of a hamstring strain and his return date is unknown. Backup defensive end Tyrone Crawford suffered a torn Achilles injury the first day ...

The NFL and NFL Players Association are working towards the HGH testing in the NFL and two prominent members of the Dallas Cowboys believe it is in the best interest of the game. “We’ve seen other pro sports and how important that’s been and the negative vibe it’s gotten,” said Jason Witten, via ESPN Dallas. “Everybody wants a level playing field. Not playing is only way Austin says he could've avoided injuries

OXNARD, Calif. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin has become better known for his hamstring injuries than his play on the field over the last couple of seasons. Austin finished with 943 yards and six touchdowns last year while battling those setbacks. How good of a season could Austin have if he stayed healthy for all 16 games? Maybe another 1,320-yard, 11-touchdown year...

Jay Ratliff reportedly a few weeks away from getting on the field

Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff suffered a hamstring injury during their conditioning test this past weekend. According to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, Ratliff  is about a few weeks away from getting on the field. Garrett: Jay Ratliff at least a few weeks away. Not a good sign when half your starting DL gets hurt on a conditioning test. — gregg rosenthal (@greggrosenthal)...

Cowboys' future could rest with Murray and success of run game

Tony Romo plays the most important position and pulls down the biggest salary on the Dallas Cowboys, but he's not the guy who makes the difference with this year's team. DeMarco Murray is. He's more than merely the Cowboys' starting running back; he's the key to their success. Because if Murray can stay in the lineup ... and if the Cowboys can make a commitment...

NFL players raced a cheetah

For reasons of which I am unaware, Titans RB Chris Johnson and Bears return specialist Devin Hester raced a cheetah. The race was filmed for "Nat Geo Wild" which is attempting to one-up Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Cheetahs can apparently go from 0 to 60 in three seconds, so we know who is probably going to win this race. While Johnson and Hester can outrun defensive...

Chris Johnson, Devin Hester to race cheetah on tv show

In one of the stranger stories I’ve read, Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson and Chicago Bears WR/KR Devin Hester will be racing against a cheetah. Johnson currently holds the NFL record for the fastest 40-time at the NFL Combine, a 4.24. This event will be aired on the Nat Geo Wild network and will kick off the network’s Big Cat Week in November. Johnson told reporters that he’s...
