Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that the Cowboys haven’t approached DE Anthony Spencer‘s agent about any trade possibilities so far.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Tuesday night that although the Dallas Cowboys would like to have Anthony Spencer on their roster next season, they’re willing to consider a trade given the limited number of pass rushers in this year’s free agent market.
Watkins adds that Spencer could be targeting an average salary of $8 million annually.
If true, it would be hard for them to fit that kind of contract into their current cap situation.
Spencer, 29, is coming off a career-high 11 sack season and wound up making the Pro Bowl for the first time.
