Cowboys Jake Ferguson Explains Hurdle: 'I'm a Big Biscuit!'
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys' 41-35 win over the Seattle Seahawks saw coach Mike McCarthy's team move to 9-3 on the season, but it also saw the continued emergence of tight end Jake Ferguson as a serious offensive threat.

His six-catch, 77-yard, one-touchdown game, which included a spectacular hurdle of a Seattle defender, was perhaps his best work of the season.

As far as what he thought of his hurdle? Ferguson had a rather unique take on on it.

“I can kind of see it in their eyes they're going low. I know I'm a big biscuit, so sometimes I just kind of get airborne," Ferguson said.

A "big biscuit''? OK!

Ferguson is developing into a threat in the "Texas Coast Offense" as he had completions of 17, 12, 14, and 12 (game-winning touchdown) against Seattle, which now takes his total for the season to 46 catches for 498 yards and five touchdowns.

His game-winning TD on the chirpy Jamal Adams was a thing of beauty, and Ferguson details the trust that he and Dak Prescott and the offense have developed which led to that play being called.

“That's something we've been drilling in practice, but really that’s a whole that's a whole offensive effort right there," Ferguson said. "I mean the O-line, 4 [Dak] putting it in a great spot only where I could get it, and that's just the ultimate trust right there. Everybody trusting each other, and that's you know where all 11 are playing like one that's where you start to make really good plays.”

The second-year tight end, just 24, is currently eighth for receiving yards among tight ends, is ninth for receptions, and is tied for second for touchdowns (five).

Many were questioning whether the tight end position without Dalton Schultz, who departed to Houston via free agency, could be a weak spot for the Cowboys this season. Well, through 12 weeks, Ferguson is doing his part to make sure it's one of the most productive, and he's doing it in style, hurdling defenders like a ... "big biscuit.''
