Cowboys Jake Ferguson Reveals Playoff Message: 'Be Comfortable Being Uncomfortable!'

The Dallas Cowboys are embarking on their third straight playoff campaign, with the mindset of going further than in previous seasons as the San Francisco 49ers have dumped Dallas out in back-to-back years.

Now, after a long and arduous 17-game regular season that has seen Dallas again notch 12 wins, they are back to where they want to be - in the playoffs fighting for a Super Bowl.

For tight end Jake Ferguson, the desire to get back to this exact spot started back in July.

“It first started with the offseason, just thought about all the work that needs to go back to that spot, get to that point, get to that spot, and ultimately take advantage of it,” Ferguson said. “But I think it goes down to it's just this week, it's this one game, first starts with this prep that we're starting with now.”

With the Cowboys favorites for their Wild Card Round matchup against the Green Bay Packers, all the pressure is on McCarthy's team as the No. 2 seed to take care of business.

It is the third consecutive season that Dallas finds itself in the Wild Card Round, and the expectation is for the Cowboys to go deep into the playoffs this year.

But with that expectation comes pressure and for "Ferg," the team knows what they have to do to be successful on Sunday.

“I think something important that we always talk about is you got to be comfortable being uncomfortable," Ferguson said. "So no matter what gets thrown us, we got to be prepared, we got to be on our p’s and q's, we got to trust in our scheme. ... trust in our training.''

The Cowboys come into Sunday in good form, winning their last two games as the offense has found its groove after a couple of sub-par performances.

But that all counts for little now. It's the start of a new season and all the work and film study throughout the offseason and the hard work put in through 17 games all comes down to this - win or go home.

The Cowboys are in a good position to take advantage of their seeding and make an NFC Championship game for the first time since 1995.

And going by Ferguson's words, the Cowboys are ready for whatever confronts them at AT&T Stadium - where with 16 straight wins they are certainly "comfortable.''
