Last week reports surfaced that former Pittsburgh Steelers coach and current CBS studio analyst, Bill Cowher, would eventually return to coaching. I guess that report was wrong. Today on the CBS NFL pregame show Cowher must’ve had a change of heart because he told host James Brown that he’s not going anywhere. “Coach, this week it was reported that you are looking to return to the sidelines,” Brown said.  “You’ve been asked this for six consecutive years.” “Contrary to reports, I have no plans on coaching,” Cowher said.  “I plan on being with one team.  And that is this team here at CBS.” I have no problem with a man changing his mind, but don’t contradict yourself and say that you plan on returning and then say you have no plans to do so. Unless what he said was taken out of context. I wouldn’t blame him not returning. He has a pretty cushy gig at CBS, has his money and has his ring. What more could he possibly ask for. The Pittsburgh Steelers waived RB Chris Rainey, according to this ESPN.com report, after he was charged with simple battery on January 10, 2013. When the Steelers were put on the clock during the 2012 NFL Draft they were ecstatic to see that the top guard in the draft, David DeCastro of Stanford, was still on the board. They wasted no time making DeCastro their selection and added him to a young core of players on their improving offensive line. DeCastro, a right guard in college, is expected to play on the right side for...

Should Rocky Bleier be Inducted into the Hall of Fame?

There are many great players who have not been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Some have not been inducted because they just did not play long enough, others because their stats were not great, and others because there were simply too many choices to choose from in any one year. Of all the players who have not been inducted, there is one that should be considered. He is Pittsburgh...

Not All Pittsburgh Steelers Fans Are Rooting Against the Ravens in the 2012 AFC Championship Game

This is an unpopular opinion that might cost me my seat at the cool-kids table among Pittsburgh Steelers fans. I want the Ravens to beat the Patriots Sunday. The Ravens and Patriots meet in the AFC Championship Game for the second year in a row. It’s the first time the same teams have met in the AFC title game for two straight seasons since the Browns and Broncos in 1986 and 1987...
