Acquitted of sexual assault in March, former Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox is being sued by the woman who accused him of the crime. Current Denver receiver Demaryius Thomas is also listed in the civil suit seeking unspecified damages. Cox did not testify at his trial. Because the burden of proof isn't as weighty in civil lawsuits, the 2010 incident will be brought back to light by a woman who filed the suit as "Jane Doe" according to the Denver Post. The woman alleged she was drugged before being taken to Cox's apartment and assaulted and became pregnant. Thomas was present and testified that he saw Cox carry a sleeping woman to his bedroom after telling Thomas "I think she's ready." A DNA test ruled out Thomas and Cox's roommate, Cassius Vaughn, and identified Cox's DNA as a "99 percent match" with the fetus, an analyst testified during the assault trial. Cox signed a two-year deal with the 49ers in the offseason after a jury ruled in his favor.
