(By Scott Fowler, sfowler@charlotteobserver.com) You have to give a lot of credit to offensive tackle Jordan Gross for this win against Washington, although he probably won't take it. Gross asked coach Ron Rivera if he could speak to the team before the game. Then the mild-mannered veteran gave a fiery pregame speech about how the Panthers had to change their losing ways - so fiery, in fact, that his voice started cracking and teammates teased him about it.The message got through. Rivera was so appreciative that he gave Gross a game ball after the win.
