Cris Collinsworth correctly predicted the ending of the Chargers-Saints game on Sunday night after noticing that San Diego left tackle Jared Gaither could hardly move. Gaither was beaten by Saints defensive end Martez Wilson on a 2nd and 10 play which forced Philip Rivers to release the ball earlier than he wanted to. The result was an incompletion leaving San Diego in a 3rd and 10 situation with 19 seconds left. “Gaither looks lame,” said Collinsworth while analyzing a replay of the second down play. “He’s going to have to get some help here or Wilson’s going to get a sack to end this game. They have to realize now that Jared Gaither’s really hurt. He’s having a tough time moving.” Sure enough, Wilson beat Gaither on the play and recorded a sack, strip, and fumble recovery to give New Orleans the ball and their first win of the season, 31-24 over the Chargers. This is the exact reason why I enjoy Collinsworth as an analyst. Unlike other broadcasters who speak in generalities an...

San Diego Chargers Atari Bigby went to the "University of Jah Rastafari" (Video)

One of my favorite parts of Sunday Night Football has to be the player introductions since some of the NFL talent have become pretty creative with where their went to college/high school. During tonight's Chargers/Saints affair, San Diego's Atari Bigby decided to let his Rastafari flag fly: After taking a gander at his Wikipedia page, Atari was born in Jamaica and chose...

Fantasy Football News: Ryan Mathews, Jackie Battle, who starts for the San Diego Chargers?

San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews was supposed to have a breakout season this year, but he now finds himself mired in a controversy with fellow team mate Jackie Battle. This offseason, Mathews was expected to be the Chargers featured back but he is now splitting carries with Battle and actually did not start last week when the Chargers took on the Kansas City Chiefs. This is yet...

Chargers Coach Norv Turner To Increase RB Ryan Mathews Workload -Chargers head coach Norv Turner indicated that RB Ryan Mathews’ weekly workloads will increase back to the full-time variety following Sunday’s loss to New Orleans, saying “I expect him to be one of the league’s leading rushers.” “Ryan was outstanding,” Turner said following Mathews’ 139-total yard,...

Ryan Mathews Breaks Out vs. New Orleans

Chargers running back Ryan Mathews turned in his best performance of the season against the Saints on Sunday, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and catching six passes for 59 yards.Fantasy Spin:Mathews had 1,546 yards from scrimmage on 272 touches last season, so he can certainly contribute in multiple phases of the game. While Jackie Battle has taken away some of...

Atari Bigby claims to be proud graduate of University of Jah Rastafari (Video)

San Diego Chargers safety Atari Bigby had some fun filming his player intro for NBC that aired during Sunday night's NFL game against the New Orleans Saints as he proclaimed that he went to college at "University of Jah Rastafari". Wonder where that school is located in relation to Ball So Hard University. In reality, Bigby actually attended the University...

Video: Cris Collinsworth calls his shot

Cris Collinsworth is a polarizing analyst.  Some fans recognize his ability to break down a game and analyze what's happening while our timeline is filled with other fans who find him insufferable.  Generally, I'd place Collinsworth in the former category as there are few analysts in any sport as good as Collinsworth as immediately breaking down and spotlighting key elements...

Robert Meachem Breaks Out vs. Saints

Chargers receiver Robert Meachem finally broke out Sunday night, catching three passes for 67 yards and two touchdown passes against his former team, the New Orleans Saints.Fantasy Spin:We're still not sold on Meachem as a viable fantasy receiver. He only has nine receptions in five games, going catchless in two of them. And if anyone should know how to beat the Saints' coverage...

San Diego Chargers @ New Orleans SaintsSan Diego Chargers (3-1): Philip Rivers has started out slow this season and has already thrown four interceptions. Insider's Perspective: Chargers vs. Saints

The Chargers missed a golden opportunity to pull out a victory in New Orleans. But unlike the team's earlier loss versus an NFC South squad, this game left much to feel good about. We cover the good, the bad and everything between in this Insider's Perspective.

DA BEARS!

Top pick this week was DA BEARS. Bears win 41-3. Enough said. No pick for Sunday Night. San Diego Chargers @ New Orleans Saints (-3.5) is a toss up to me. If you want to play it, you’re better off flipping a coin. I’m taking the Chargers +3.5 in the pick ‘em league, but not putting my money on it. I already made a killing thanks to DA BEARS and stand to gain even more if I...
