According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, on Tuesday Bears quarterback Jay Cutler told head coach Lovie Smith that he was in favor of letting offensive coordinator Mike Martz move on since he was never crazy about working with him in the first place. Martz’s contract ran out at the end of the season and the Bears and Martz decided the best thing was for them both to move on. Even though Cutler wasn’t crazy about Martz, he was a good fit, since Cutler seemed to be very productive over the past couple of seasons running Martz’s offense. Smith now needs to find an offensive coordinator that can be a long term answer, since the turnover rate within his staff has been way to high over the years.
