Slim pickings on the waiver wire this week, other than Kevin Smith of course.

With bye weeks over and many owners out of playoff contention, the waiver wire will be a less active place in the coming weeks. But owners still in the hunt should continue to be active. For those in keeper/dynasty formats, these sneaky waiver wire adds may be more suitable for you:

Jake Locker, QB, Titans: Locker took over for the injured Matt Hasselbeck and threw two touchdown passes to Nate Washington. Rookie quarterbacks have been very successful this year and Locker appears poised to be the next fantasy relevant rookie QB under center.

Lorenzo Booker, RB, Vikings: Adrian Peterson suffered a high ankle sprain against Oakland and could miss a few weeks. Chances are good the Vikings will hold him out until fully healthy with the team out of playoff contention. Everyone assumes Toby Gerhart will be the lead back in Minnesota, but I think Booker has some upside here especially in PPR formats. Percy Harvin likely will benefit from the absence of Peterson too.

Greg Little, WR, Browns: Kid is going to be a PPR monster one day. Cleveland needs some help at quarterback though. Little is useful this year for owners in a pinch.

Tashard Choice, RB, Redskins: Mike Shanahan does not want to commit to Roy Helu, Ryan Torain or anyone for that matter. It is amazing the guy has been married for so long. Choice could be next in line for a big day, but good luck trying to predict when that will happen.

Shane Vereen, RB, Patriots: Vereen almost-quietly had a big night for New England on Monday night in mop-up duty. This guy should be on your radar.
