With Felix Jones ailing due to a high ankle sprain that could keep him out of the Cowboys’ lineup for two-to-four weeks, Tashard Choice will be a popular add off waiver wires this week.

But you should not be picking him up. Go for the other back in Dallas, who has much more upside. He is the first of five sneaky waiver wire adds for Week 7.

DeMarco Murray, RB, Cowboys: Murray got 11 touches to Choice’s eight against the Patriots in Week 6. There also have been rumors that Dallas may try to trade Choice this week, as they have been unhappy with his performance this season. Could be time for the rookie runner to shine.

Greg Salas, WR, Rams: Mike Sims-Walker was benched in favor of Salas on Sunday and played in the slot. He caught eight passes for 77 yards in a very Danny Amendola-like performance. Salas’ good game the acquisition of Brandon Lloyd via trade made Sims-Walker expendable.

Dion Lewis, RB, Eagles: Lewis served as the primary backup to LeSean McCoy on Sunday, supplanting the veteran Ronnie Brown. All it takes is one misstep for McCoy and Lewis will start getting substantial playing time in a lucrative offense.

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Broncos: As mentioned above, Brandon Lloyd was traded to the Rams on Monday. Thomas, meanwhile, is back at Broncos’ practice and figures to step into the starting lineup immediately with Lloyd gone. If he can stay healthy long enough, he could become Tim Tebow‘s favorite target.

Maurice Morris, RB, Lions: You probably will see the name Keiland Williams mentioned on a number of sites this week after Jahvid Best suffered a concussion. Perhaps, however, it should be Morris’ name on those lists. If you miss out on Williams, I would consider Morris in deeper formats.

Here are today’s great reads:

  • With the continued dominance of Fred Jackson in the Buffalo backfield, the Bills needed to find another way to get former first-round pick C.J. Spiller on the field. They found one way by moving Spiller to wide receiver. With Donald Jones out several weeks, Spiller could add some juice to the passing game if he can pick it up quickly. [ProFootballTalk]
  • I was big on Sam Bradford coming into the season after a stellar rookie year. But he and Rams have been a major disappointment so far in 2010. The addition of Brandon Lloyd, though, should help Bradford going forward. The Rams’ schedule is favorable for some nice fantasy numbers. [Roto Arcade]
  • Week 6 fantasy football revelations. The Ravens and Texas played each other this week in what turned out to be an OK game for the offensive players involved. The stars on both these teams have favorable playoff schedules, so they should be gold for fantasy owners come crunch time. Just gotta get to the dance! [National Football Post]
