The Redskins eked out a 17-16 win at home over the Giants on Monday Night Football to even their record up at 6-6 (3-1 in the division), and keep their playoff hopes alive. It was a big win over a tough division rival for the Skins players and everyone involved in their organization, including owner Dan Snyder. On a night when the media were allowed early access to the locker room, Snyder had some rather unkind words to say about the Giants to an anonymous staffer following the victory.
“I hate those motherf—–s.”
Now, some people might find Snyder’s language and behavior to be classless and inappropriate. I find it refreshing—a prominent NFL figure not named Jerry Jones being candid and speaking passionately about his team’s biggest rivals. Sure he could have used a less salty expression, but say what you will, it definitely got the point across regarding Snyder’s feelings for the Giants.
Robert Klemko, NFL reporter for USA Today, tweeted out Snyder’s comments late last night…
Now that Snyder’s comments have been made public, expect them to add fuel to the fire in the Giants-Skins rivalry, which is nothing but a good thing for the NFL and its fans.
