The St. Louis Rams suffered a huge loss when Danny Amendola suffered a seperated SC joint in the Rams 17-3 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at home on Thursday night at the Edward Jones Dome. Amendola has easily been quarterback Sam Bradford's most reliable wide receiver.  Amendola has 32 receptions for 395 yards and two touchdowns in five games this season. While the Rams will be without Amendola's services for the next four to eight weeks, evidently Amendola is lucky to still have life. According to Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com, Amendola's injury could have been life threatening if his clavicle would have popped out of place and touched his trachea or aorta. Danny Amendola dislocated clavicle and it popped in, which never happens in the NFL. VERY lucky didn't move far bc close to aorta & trachea. — Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) October 7, 2012 Glazer explained on Fox's pre-game show on Sunday that the injury looks to be unprecedented in the NFL. You can ch...

ST. LOUIS (AP) St. Louis Rams running Steven Jackson can void the final year of his contract after this season in a compromise after talks fell through on a long-term extension. The running back confirmed terms of the deal to the Associated Press on Friday. "It's part of the business," Jackson told reporters. "I've said that from the beginning that, even...

St. Louis Rams Let RB Steven Jackson Void Deal, Become Free Agent 2013

The writing may be on the wall for St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson. CBSSports.com is reporting that even though Jackson didn’t reach incentives to void out the final two years of his contract, the Rams will allow him to void his final season, 2013 anyway, which means Jackson will be an unrestricted free [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Rams Kicker Greg “The Leg” Zuerlein Becoming A Hit One Kick At A…

Rams Kicker Greg “The Leg” Zuerlein Becoming A Hit One Kick At A Time - We all know about the 5 rookie quarterbacks in Indy, D.C., Miami and Seattle. Also another rookie quarterback and running back in Cleveland. All these guys will come up when the talk of NFL Rookie of the Year is discussed. But should the guy pictured here be given consideration? Some NFL fans think that...

Injury to Amendola was life threatening

On Thursday night Danny Amendola suffered a dislocated clavicle which forced him from the game between the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals. Amendola’s clavicle popped in and could have threatened his trachea and/or aorta. According to Fox’s Jay Glazer, Amendola was sedated and the clavicle was popped back into place. Glazer reports that the Rams attempted to find another...

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams: Week 5 Recap

The Rams were able to beat the Cardinals as I predicted! It's something that hasn't happened since back in 2005 in a game that was also at home for the Rams.It was a 17-3 win but it was still an ugly win since the offense didn't put on a good performance. There were some injuries for the Rams, including Danny Amendola. The Rams got the ball first and were able to get a...

Re-evaluating the Rams' 2012 schedule

Before the season started, I had this Rams team pegged for a 5-11 season. Mild improvement, based on a stronger showing at home (check), but nothing earth-shattering. I figured it would be too soon for all the offensive pieces to come together, especially given a threadbare offensive line, and was ready for a "wait 'til next year" approach to the season. Well, here...

Wiber: Janoris Jenkins has been a diamond in the rough

When you think of the St. Louis Rams drafts over the years there are not to many memorable draft picks.  I am not talking about the last few years, but all the way back to their first year in St. Louis. Yes, the Rams drafted Torry Holt and the Orlando Pace, two draft selections that clearly worked out.  But there were more poor picks, such as Lawrence Phillips and Jason Smith...

Lock of the Day – October 8, 2012

LOTD Recap We nailed our first CLNS Radio Lock of the Day with the St. Louis Rams (+2.5) on Thursday Night Football.  While the Rams weren’t exactly dominant, Sam Bradford hit a couple huge plays, and Kevin Kolb reverted back to what he’s been most of his career.  I hope you cashed in on our [...]

Fantasy Football 2012: Should Rams WR Brandon Gibson Be on Your Radar?

.Danny Amendola’s injury has opened the door for somebody to take on extra looks for the St. Louis Rams. Amendola has more than twice as many yards with 395 as the next closest guy..That guy is Brandon Gibson and he is second on the Rams with 186 receiving yards through five games. The only other receiver with 100+ yards is Chris Givens, and he has 112 on just four catches...

NFL Week 5 Predictions: AJ Green and Dalton best combo?

The Sports Prophet began week 5 with a solid start taking the home underdog St. Louis Rams for the outright victory over the previously undefeated Arizona Cardinals.  Two more undefeated teams remain (Falcons & Texans) but only one of them will stay that way.  I went 11-3 last week and while that's tough to top, I'll give it my best shot.  Here are The Sports...

Week 6 Pass Defense Matchups: What can Brown do for you?

Danny Amendola, whose clavicle popped IN and came dangerously close to ending his life, might actually be back this season, but it will likely be at least a month before his return and that’s incredibly damaging to Sam Bradford’s value.  With The Panthers, Bears, Jaguars and Saints all on bye in week 6, fantasy owners will definitely be looking for plug in value, but with Bradford’s...
