No one likes when the blusterous and headline-grabbing Jets publicly air their laundry.

Not even their lone superstar player.

Speaking at Saturday's release event for his new training shoe, cornerback Darrelle Revis urged Gang Green to keep their collective traps shut during the remaining five weeks.

"Guys just need to shut up," he said, via Newsday. "Quit talking crazy to the media, especially involving your teammates. I think that's the worst, because when you do that, that's when it really gets divided. Because you don't know if you can trust your other teammate."

The Jets are sitting at 4-7 -- 2-6 since Revis suffered a season-ending knee injury -- and, despite last week's implosion against the Patriots, have an outside chance at the postseason if they can run the table.

So, if the All-Pro corner can't help them on the field, how is he offering encouragement?

"Just try to coach them as much as I can," Revis said. "Tell them to keep their heads up and just keep working on the task at hand. It's real upsetting how it is right now, being 4-7. Nobody's excited about that record because we feel that we're better. So if we can get this winning streak going, then it'll brighten our chances of getting into the playoffs."

Revis' initial comments about being divisive are obviously directed at the Tim Tebow saga, when anonymous Jets reportedly ripped the backup quarterback. That set in motion the team's recent tailspin to which they're unlikely to recover from in 2012.

It speaks volumes that someone who hasn't been in that locker room in 10 weeks can still see through the charade.
