San Francisco 49ers safety Dashon Goldson believes he deserves a long-term contract rather then receiving the franchise tag for a second straight season. “I felt that they wanted me to prove myself, and I think I did just that,” said Goldson per the Sacramento Bee. “So if I was in the position again with the franchise tag, I’d be very surprised.” The 49ers paid Goldson $6.2 million in 2012 under the tag.  If they tag him again they’ll owe him only $7.5 million in 2013, which is nothing for a player of his caliber. Goldson deserves to be either paid or let go at this point.
