Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers has been ruled out for their season opener against Atlanta, leaving Kansas City without four key players on defense.

The Falcons announced on twitter today that cornerback Brent Grimes would be gone for the year with an Achilles injury. Grimes left the second half of yesterday’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs with what was deemed a calf injury. Grimes left in the fourth quarter and did not return. It was unclear which calf the six-year veteran injured.
