David Harris who was held out of practice yesterday was held out again today according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
Harris, who injured a toe Sunday night against the Cowboys, stretched with the team Thursday in the field house, but he didn’t participate in any positional drills. When the team broke up into units, Harris went off to the side to work with a trainer. He was seen jogging, and it was clear the toe was causing some discomfort.
After cutting David Garrard the other week and Maurice Jones-Drew on the team, the Jaguars will probably try to run a good deal as it’s one of their strengths. Harris could be an important factor in stuffing the run, but if there’s any real concern there and the Jets feel like shutting him down for a week, better they do it now than wait a week and try it against the Dolphins – or potentially compound whatever he’s dealing with.
